Map Alert & Pay is a very handy iPhone application that allows the user to receive free alerts when entering the London Congestion Charging area. The App will also allow the user to check a live map for location updates. If the user enters a Congestion Charging Zone, the application will alert the user that they have entered a charging area. The facility to pay via the iPhone App is also available via the free version.

Its impossible to review this app because the terms and conditions authorise the developer to use your details for marketing. Apps like this are meant to make life easier, but any marginal improvement this app may or may not offer you could never be inversely greater than the living hell that is being bombarded by cold callers.

Free app is great
This is a great free app. A bit disappointed that I paid for the upgrade so I could pay the charge only to find the app doesnt handle the payment. Instead for your dollar it unlocks the app to dial the call center number. While functional it would be worth more if it handled the payment directly.

Theres room for improvement
not bad for a free app, it does what its supposed to be doing. accurate location and gps position, intuitive design and functionality. The signing in process could be simplified by only requesting the car reg no.
